Simple Fish Kebabs with Fresh Avocado Salsa Recipe

A fish kebab with an avocado twist

This meal is quick and simple to make and by combining the spicy salsa with the fish creates a dish with an outstanding range of flavors.


For the kebabs

600 g firm fish, such as monkfish and tuna
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 tablespoon tomato puree
2 tablespoon vegetable oil
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 lime
1 tsp salt

For the salsa

2 medium avocados, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh coriander chopped
1 small red onion, chopped
1 teaspoon lime juice
500 g rice
Flat bread

Recipe Instructions

Prepare the fish.
Cut the fish into large cubes.  Mix together the ground coriander, turmeric, salt, chili powder, tomato puree, vegetable oil, ground cumin and lime juice.  Coat the fish in the marinade, cover it and leave it to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Cook the fish.
Once marinated, skewer the fish chunks onto 4 large or 8 small skewers.  Preheat the grill and grill the fish for about 10 minutes basting occasionally.

Make the salsa.
Combine all the salsa ingredients and mix together well.

Serve the kebabs on boiled rice or alternatively with warm flat bread.
