Avocado and Tuna Salad Recipe

The perfect combo of avocado and tuna in a salad
Yield: 4    Preparation Time: 10 minutes    Cooking Time: 15 minutes
A Mediterranean influenced avocado and tuna salad.

Ingredients

2 fresh tuna steaks, 150-200g each
3 Waitrose Mediterranean Ciabatta Loaf, torn into bite-sized pieces
2 Little Gem lettuces, each cut into 6 wedges
150g baby plum tomatoes, halved
½ ripe avocado, sliced
1 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons Waitrose Aged Balsamic and Oregano Dressing

Recipe Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200C.

Bake the bread.
Place the ciabatta pieces onto a baking tray and drizzle over the olive oil and season.  Bake for 10 minutes until the pieces turn into golden crispy croutons.

Fry the tuna.
Brush the tuna with oil and fry for 3 – 4 minutes on each side.  Once cooked break into bite-sized pieces.

Serve.
Arrange the lettuce and the avocados onto 2 plates.  Scatter over the tomatoes, croutons and tuna pieces.  Drizzle over the dressing, season with black pepper and garnish with basil leaves.
